6 months in as PR & Social Media Executive…
Hi guys – I’m Beth!
I’ve been at Lenny for the past six months now, and it has flown by. In between drinking slightly unnecessary amounts of tea (Yorkshire, of course) and catching up on the latest TV dramas (Peaky Blinders ftw), my main role for the company is to manage and develop our clients’ social media channels. Or, according to my friends and family, play on Facebook all day. I’m really interested in digital marketing and how it’s evolving, so you’ll find my inbox full of industry updates and latest trends.
My previous experience is based around events, I was a Wedding and Events Assistant in New York on and off for three years between my studies, but I’d always had an underlying interest in digital marketing and social media. I most recently spent a year working as an Event Assistant at Gin Festival (quite the gin conessiuer now) and this is where I started to get involved with content writing and managing their social media channels pre and during events. I’d say this ignited my interest even more. I then decided to take what I’d learned, team it with my passion and dive straight into an agency where managing social media is my main focus.
During my time at Lenny I’ve got to say the biggest highlight so far was a spot of reactive PR we did for a local client WOW Sleep. We got involved with Children in Need and gave Harry & Paul from Look North a place to rest on their 3-legged walk. It was such a buzz, we got a picture with them, and we go approx 2 seconds of fame on TV (I’m kind of a big deal…) 😀
My goal is to instigate and be part of a viral social media campaign for one of our clients, watch this space!
Fun fact: I can turn my eyelids inside out, but I’m not sure how fun that is, it depends on how squeamish you are haha.
I’m also a big advocate of bringing your pet into the office. Fiddy the 5 month old pug has contributed to plenty of cuddles increasing productivity and smiles all round.
