My time at Lenny so far!
Hi guys i’m Chloe, the new Senior PR and Social Account Executive at The Lenny Agency! I’m just over 6 weeks into my new role and what a 6 weeks it’s been! I started the role with much anticipation as this is my first job in PR as well as being completely new to working agency side! My previous experience has been in house marketing in both the public and private sectors so this has been very different!
My first day nerves were put at ease straight away, I got a great feeling from the office and the team already from my interview; which is a whole new story… hands up if you have ever gone for an interview to then be locked in an escape room for the best part of an hour with a group of practical strangers!! I mean I don’t know how helpful I was; trying to hold back being over excited about finding clues, whilst trying to simultaneously give off a good impression! But I got a great vibe from the team and the feeling must have been mutual as I received the phone call to say I got the job the very next day woohoo!
Everyone’s friendly and welcoming manner, despite their busy workloads, instantly put me at ease! Although I kind of got the impression to make the most of a quiet diary while I could as I suspected this wouldn’t be the case for long (I was right). My workload has increased over the past few weeks, each task bringing a new challenge and in turn new skills and knowledge.
My responsibilities are very varied and include managing social media/ social adverts for one of our main clients, securing monthly brand partnerships for social giveaways, liaising on a daily basis with clients and the media, building strong relationships and networks with colleagues, clients and the press, monitoring all coverage in newspapers, magazines, blogs, social media sites etc., develop client proposals and implement them, prepare monthly reports, researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media, promoting news stories and features, help manage events, including press conferences/ promotional events, celebrity gifting to influencers and reality stars (as a self-proclaimed trash TV addict this is right up by street!) and a monthly blog (yes, there will more where this came from!)
Literally no day is ever the same which is just how I like it! I can walk into the office with a list of jobs in mind to get done then as soon as I sit down and log onto my emails I realise this is no longer the case. My first month and a half in the PR world of work has been challenging in the best possible way. And I want to say a huge thanks to the guys at Lenny for being brill and helping me settle in so quick! We also occasionally have our dogs in the office and anyone who knows me knows how well this has gone down!
